FALL CLASSES ANNOUNCED AT FLOURISHES
We are thrilled to announce that we are adding several classes and workshops to our offerings at Flourishes Flowers! Here are just a few of the offerings that are coming up this Fall-
MO WASSELL local mixed media artist will be leading several workshops. Mo is a fixture of the Stillwater art scene; here are her first two offerings:
“Mixed Media Boot Camp” $60 8 MAX Sat., November 19th – 9:30 to 4:30 (bring a lunch or go out) Using a variety of techniques and materials, you’ll create a large mixed media painting which you can then turn into multiple small paintings or projects, including one mounted 6″x6″ wood canvas. The only experience needed is a desire to have fun and paint. Supplies will be provided but feel free to bring your favorite tools and supplies
Mo will also lead a make and take event that will be an evening of making Mala/Prayer Bracelets Thurs., $25, Nov. 10th – 5:30 to 6:30 or 7:00 min. 4 or 8 max A useful and decorative creation for meditation and mindfulness, mala bracelets (or prayer bracelets) offer a timeless and unique way of focusing (as well as looking gorgeous!). Supplies included: semi-precious/natural stone beads, threading materials, tassel. There will also be information regarding the spiritual properties of the various stones used in the beads and a few additional bracelet components will be available for purchase.
JACQUI SAVAGE will be presenting several Herbal opportunities. You may know Jacqui from the Farmer’s Market where she has maintained a long time booth “Jacqui’s Herbs Naturally”. Jacqui’s Herbs Naturally’s goal is to provide naturally grown herbs and unique vegetables for sale locally through the Stillwater farmer’s market. She will impart her knowledge of all things herbal while demonstrating some very useful specifics as you pursue a more healthful lifestyle by using natural herbal solutions in your home.
Pesto isn’t just from basil. Learn how to make other pesto’s to enhance your winter dishes. Your will receive several samples to taste, watch 2 recipes being demonstrated, get some ideas on how to use pesto’s in your everyday cooking, and receive a recipe book to take home! 2 hour session starting at 1:30 to 3:30 Saturday afternoon, October 8. $25
Flavored Vinegars give a wake-up call to any salad dressing and to other dishes as well. Learn how to make your own flavored vinegars and how to use them. You will take home a sample to try, plus recipes. 2 hour session starting at 1:30 to 3:30 Saturday afternoon, Oct. 15 $25
Herb Seasoning Make a dry herb seasoning to take home and add piazzaz to your everyday cooking. You will learn what to use this mix for from bread crumbs to salad dressings. 2 hour session starting at 1:30 to 3:30, Saturday November 5th.$25
Bath Powder plus bag! Saturday, December 10th 1:30 to 3:30 Make your own personal bath powder using all natural ingredients. Then decorate paper with watercolor paints to turn into a bag to take home your bath powder.$25
JUDE TOLAR Renowned oil pastel artist will host a Demonstration and share her incredible use of light and color, (from 2:00 to 4:00pm) creating a work of art in real time from life.
BONNIE HAMMOND will lead a series of make and take events this fall including a Fresh Pumpkin Floral , A Harvest Swag or Wreath Workshop, A Christmas Centerpiece for your holiday table replete with candles if you choose. Also on the agenda are workshops in Precious Metal Clay, Glass Fusing, Ceramics for Jewelry and Holiday Earrings.
